During this June, I had this exciting opportunity to attend the Wharton Global Youth Program at UPenn at its West Philly campus for two weeks. Over the course of the program, I learned a diverse range of topics in the field of finance, including types of investment, mortgages, amortization, cash flows, equity market and bond market.
Throughout the course, I also was partaking in another task; a scavenger hunt around the UPenn campus. To complete the scavenger hunt, we need to discover the various buildings and other locations around the campus and take pictures with them, based on a list of 50 clues.
I teamed up with my other two roommates and started our exploration. We finished the scavenger hunt within a week, and we were the first team among all the session one summer program students to complete it. We also ended up on the news page of Wharton Global Youth Instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/p/DLDGBtAxMtG/?igsh=MTlmMTFveXVtZ2kxMQ==
It was an unforgettable experience to participate and win the scavenger hunt, and I also got to learn many facts about UPenn from the scavenger hunt! For example, one clue was determining the best place for turtles on the UPenn campus. After some research, we discovered the Biopond, and found out that the pond contained turtles living in the water! Two more of my favorite locations were the Fisher Fine Arts Library and College Hall. At the Fisher Library, I experienced the beauty of a National Historic Landmark. At College Hall, I discovered that the entirety of the West Philadelphia campus used to be housed in just that one building!
My summer adventure at UPenn is truly amazing and I aspire going back to the campus next year!
